When Hurricane Karina devastated the Mississippi Gulf Coast on August 29, 2005, life as we knew it came to a screeching halt. One thing it did not stop was cancer. After the hurricane every time I fitted a wig for someone who lost everything in the hurricane, didn’t have flood insurance, was living in a FEMA trailer and was so sick from cancer treatments, it just broke my heart. The Pink Heart Fund was born out of love and necessity.

The Pink Heart Fund became a reality after buying a little pink heart box at a cosmetic counter in the shopping mall; I had to have it. It was then placed it at my hairstyling station with a note asking for donations to help purchase wigs for cancer patients with limited funds or no funds. There is never enough money to help those with limited funds suffering from a hair loss illness. I use 100% of the profits from donations and the sale of my, "Appetite For Living," cookbook. There is so much that insurance doesn't cover; I like to help people with those decisions as well. Email me if you have any questions about cancer policies and what's available to you, niceleydone34@aol.com

Much Inspiration & Love, JoAn Niceley.
