Monica Jo McGuire
In loving memory of Monica.

Monica Jo McGuire

Feb. 8, 1969 - Jan. 21, 2008

...a daughter, sister, best friend, girl-friend, student, case worker and "adviser", an extraordinary woman missed every day.

Donated to Pink Heart Funds from Monica's dear friend and family was a beautiful wardrobe filled with the finest of clothing.

It is our intention to donate Monica's wigs, clothing, purses and many other beautiful belongings to those in need due to illness. If you find some one with lack of funds or insurance coverage please find it in your heart to donate these items, especially those going through cancer.

Monica fought a rare pancreatic cancer for almost three years. She expressed her frustration at the lack of information and funding available to those battling pancreatic cancer. Monica felt fortunate to have the support of her family and friends as well as the support form her employer.

By sharing her fun, girlie, frilly clothes she has put smiles on many faces.

With love and inspiration, Monica's friends and family.

...As I found myself, finding the right women to distribute Monica's belongings to, I felt as if I had known this woman all my life.

The sweaters that she wore still had a hint of her cologne and the funky socks donated from a tiny foot half the size of mine. A purse that had a nail file and a dime left in it. Special things that just felt like her presence was in the room. She adorned the most lovely of things. I even came across a beautiful hair clip. I felt as if I had to keep that item for myself in memory of Monica. I wear it often.

Although I have no idea who she was I feel honored to have been a part of allowing Monica to live on through the fabrics of lace, cotton and wool, strewn across the Southern women of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. What a wonderful gift.

The women and young girls that found themselves clothed in the finest of Monica's fabrics now have a smile. Thanks to a very kind and thoughtful friend named Julie who cared enough to make a difference.

Friendship is a powerful work.

Smile and God Bless.
